The Methodist Breast Imaging Fellowship is centered at the Methodist Breast Center on Wolf River Boulevard in Germantown, TN. We offer mammography, breast ultrasound performance and interpretation, breast MRI, stereotactic and ultrasound guided core breast biopsies, galactography, wire localizations and DEXA bone densitometry.
The fellow would also have the opportunity to perform breast sentinel node injections at our nearby Germantown Outpatient Radiology Center. We are equipped with five Hologic Selenia digital mammography units, five GE Logic 9 ultrasound units, and one Lorad stereotactic biopsy unit. We read approximately 42,000 mammograms and 9,600 breast ultrasounds yearly and perform over 1,800 procedures at the Methodist Breast Center yearly.
We have nine full time dedicated breast imaging staff members at the Methodist Breast Center. Additional opportunities for performance and interpretation of breast imaging and procedures would also be available at the Methodist Diagnostic Center on Union Avenue.
The Breast Imaging Fellow would be expected to participate daily in reading screening mammography and in performing diagnostic workups. The fellow would also be expected to perform procedures. Conference participation would also be an integral part of the fellowship. The fellow would have the opportunity to attend one meeting during the fellowship year.
The applicant would be expected to have completed a Diagnostic Radiology Residency and be board certified/eligible. A medical license to practice in the state of Tennessee would be required.
