Our residents work at 5 hospitals with over 50 subspecialty-trained radiologists. Faculty from non-radiology departments of the University of Tennessee and Methodist Healthcare contribute to our educational program by offering instruction in their particular disciplines.
Our program strives to bring together quality clinical training, a robust conference schedule, opportunities to participate in research, and participation in national radiology meetings.
While there are many changes taking place in the national environment of residency education, our guiding principles include providing excellent patient care, developing comprehensive radiology education, and maintaining a satisfying work environment.
Thank you for visiting our program on the web. Please explore the website to find out more about our program, the residents, and Memphis.

Memphis Radiological, P.C. offers a 12-month subspecialized breast imaging fellowship program. We accept one fellow per year. Our aim is to provide in-depth, subspecialized training in breast imaging in a unique hybrid environment which combines both private practice and academic settings. The fellow will have the opportunity to work with fellowship-trained breast imagers at several breast imaging centers in both Memphis and Germantown, TN. Our fellowship is affiliated with University of Tennessee Health Science Center and Methodist LeBonheur hospital system. Our institution performs over 63,000 screening and diagnostic mammograms and more than 1,400 procedures annually.
Each fellow will graduate with the necessary knowledge and interventional skills to independently practice in either a private practice or academic institution. The fellow will learn to accurately, effectively, and compassionately diagnose breast pathology through both image interpretation (tomosynthesis mammography, ultrasound and MRI) and interventional skills (DBT-guided, ultrasound-guided, MR-guided biopsies as well as wire and RF tag localization procedures).
The fellow will also work with a multidisciplinary team to assist with treatment planning and improve patient morbidity and mortality. Specifically, the fellow will interact with surgeons, pathologists, medical oncologists and radiation oncologists to provide multidisciplinary care to breast cancer patients. This will include biweekly tumor board participation. There will also be rotations through different breast subspecialties including breast surgery, pathology, medical oncology, plastic surgery and radiation oncology. Academic opportunities will include didactic lectures, journal club, and the opportunity to work on a case report or research project during the year.
There are no weekend or call requirements as a part of this fellowship. There is the opportunity for paid elective general radiology internal moonlighting for those who wish to maintain their general radiology skills and prepare for the diagnostic radiology Certifying Exam.
We are participating in the Society of Breast Imaging (SBI) Fellowship Match Program through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Per the SBI timeline, we will begin accepting applications on November 1st, 2025 for the 2027-2028 Breast Imaging Fellowship Match. Interviews will be conducted virtually from January through March 2026.
